TrainIT for Charity (Barnados): A Chance to Learn and Help Others

April 2008  Print

DDLS holds its annual TrainIT for Charity day on Thursday, 24th April.

TrainIT for Charity is an event where IT managers, CIOs and business heads can learn about the new technologies that will impact their business this year in order to plan their staffing skills updates.

It is a one stop shop for the skills development that will drive your organisation’s performance in 2008 and beyond.

The day comprises a timetable of five session times, where you can attend a choice of eight different seminars.

Here is a glimpse of the seminars you can attend on the day:

SQL Server 2008
This seminar provides an introduction to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and gives participants an overview of key enhancements in the areas of: manageability, performance, security, database development and warehousing, availability, reporting and analysis services.

Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007
Microsoft OCS 2007 is a real-time enterprise communications server which can help your organisation increase staff productivity and reduce time delays associated with traditional sharing of large amounts of information. This seminar gives an insight into OCS and how it provides a framework to deliver instant messaging, rich presence information, file transfer, audio-video conferencing and web conferencing functionality within an organisation.

Project Management/Business Analysis
What does it mean to be a Project Manager (PM) or Business Analyst (BA) in today’s business environment? This presentation will look at some of the biggest challenges facing PMs and BAs today including how to bridge the gap between yourself, the IT professional and the business; how to sell your role within the organisation; and when a BA should enter the lifecycle of a project.

All proceeds from the day will go to a special project for Barnados.

Under the project, Barnados works closely with a socially isolated and very economically disadvantaged community located in Western Sydney. It assists by providing young people with education, technology, training and employment opportunities to enable them to get connected to the broader community.
