Windows Server 2008 is Microsoft’s biggest ever product release.

To support this launch, DDLS held Microsoft Windows Server 2008 seminars in almost every capital city including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, and Canberra.

During these seminars, DDLS’ top Microsoft trainers gave attendees an in-depth look into Microsoft’s release of Windows Server 2008, which covered:

  • The Big Picture: How Windows Server 2008 has been designed around server roles that map to common server workloads, what's new in WS 2008 and the impact these changes will have on network infrastructure.

  • Virtualisation and Anywhere Access: The pros and cons of virtualisation using Microsoft’s new Hypervisor Technology. Also covered were Terminal Services Gateway; securing terminal services access into the environment along with terminal services remote programs, SSO, and PNP device redirection.

  • Security and Web Services: Network Access Protection (NAP), which is a policy-based network health solution that is built into Microsoft Windows Server 2008. Also covered were the redesigned Internet Information Services (IIS) 7, troubleshooting features, a breakdown of architecture, security improvements and the new IIS 7 configuration system.

These seminars gave participants a taste of what they can expect from our training when it is available in May 2008.

Attendees said the introductory seminars were “top rate” and provided “very good information” on the new technology.
