Where can I take an EC-Council examination?
Please note that exam vouchers are included with most EC-Council courses delivered at DDLS. Exams are not taken at the conclusion of the course. Exam candidates are required to book their exam after completion of the course. Please contact your local DDLS branch for available times.
Am I required to sign any agreement prior to the exam?
Yes, EC-Council has developed a number of policies to support the goals of EC-Council certification program, including:
- Non-Disclosure agreement (NDA)
- EC-Council Certification Agreement
- Security and Integrity Policy
Note: It is mandatory for all candidates to agree to the above before attempting the exam.
When will I know if I have passed or failed the test?
You will receive notification of your pass or fail status within a few minutes of completing your exam. In addition, you will receive a printed report that provides your exam result and feedback on your performance in the skill areas measured. You can also find your score transcript within your Aspen account.
What is the score required to pass the exam?
This depends on the exam. Some of the exams state the exact passing score as a percentage required.
Some of the exams’ passing scores are based on the knowledge and skills needed to demonstrate competence in the subject matter and the difficulty of the questions that are delivered to a candidate. Because the number of correct answers needed to pass varies based on the difficulty of the questions delivered, if you see a difficult combination of questions, your performance may actually be higher in relation to the passing standard even though you answered fewer questions (in other words, a lower percentage) correctly than if you saw an easier set of questions. Scaled scores simplify your ability to evaluate improvements in your performance over time. This is a standard practice across the certification and licensure industry.
