    Overview of Azure Certifications

Microsoft Azure training and certifications are designed to validate technical knowledge and ability in current and future industry job roles.

Azure certifications enable IT professionals, developers, and data and AI professionals to prove that they have the necessary skills to cover all the aspects of digital transformation - from managing on-premises, hybrid, or cloud infrastructure, to innovating with the best-in class applications. Microsoft Azure certifications and training also help these professionals show that they have what it takes to support those apps and infrastructure with data and analytics, all with the proper security considerations.

How do you get Azure training?

To get an entry-level Azure certification, take the Microsoft AZ-900 Azure fundamentals exam after undergoing Microsoft Azure Fundamentals training. These are the recommended first steps toward a career in cloud computing.

From that point, you specialise as a developer, architect, security professional or data scientist. To do this, you can sit for intermediate courses on Microsoft certified azure solutions architect expert training, Azure virtual training on data fundamentals, Azure development training and Azure administrator training.

Is Microsoft training on Azure recommended for beginners?

And can a non-technical person learn it? Training on Microsoft Azure fundamentals is great for beginners. You do not need to come from an IT background to be able to sign up for a course.

But it does help you follow discussions if you brush up on basic IT knowledge on networks, data analytics, mathematics, some terms and concepts related to Machine Learning and how Web servers work prior to starting a course. During the course, you will learn how to start working with Azure.

An MCT talks about Azure training on Microsoft #LearningFriends

In a video on training for Azure administrators by Microsoft Learn, Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) shared why she enjoys teaching Course AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator. Jourdan also shared some of her favourite resources to complement your learning journey, including learning paths, courses that help you to get ready for this training and to take the next steps, and how to prepare for certification.

"I really enjoy teaching AZ-104 as it's great training for a variety of Azure roles. In the class, we review infrastructure: compute, storage, and networking, in addition to identity, governance, monitoring, and backup."

"We start with what each of these services looks like in Azure, we discuss use cases and why an Azure administrator would want to use one service over another. It's also insightful to hear how students are using Azure. Whether their company is just getting started or they have a mature practice."

"Another benefit to the class is the hands-on labs. Learners have the opportunity to practice what they've learned during the lecture by completing labs with guided scenarios and objectives. Each of the topics is exciting."

"In particular, my favourite module of the training is administering Azure Storage. We discuss storage types and the differences. We also gain an understanding of what durability and high availability means through replication strategies in Azure.
We discuss security and how to secure a storage endpoint. We also demo tools like Azure Storage Explorer and AZCopy to make it easier to work with Azure Storage."

"Each of the learning paths is valuable to prepare for the exam, especially
the virtual networking learning path as this is one of the largest skills measured on the exam."

"Prior to taking the Azure administrator course, it's recommended to take AZ-900, Azure Fundamentals along with AZ-104: Prerequisite for Azure Administrators learning path. This ensures your success as you gain the necessary skills to implement, manage, and monitor in Azure."

"When completing the prerequisite, you'll also have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with core Azure services in the Azure Portal in addition to utilizing the Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure Resource Manager templates."

"The Microsoft Certified Official Practice Test created by MeasureUp is a great resource to prepare for the certification. You gain insight into the format and question types that you will see on the exam covering each of the exam objectives."

"When completing the practice questions, you have the opportunity to view an explanation of why the answer was correct and why the remaining answer choices were incorrect with links to documentation for further explanation. There are a variety of next steps to choose from after attaining AZ-104."

"If you're interested in learning more about networking, AZ-700, the Azure Network Engineer Associate. If architecting solutions are of interest, you've completed one of the necessary requirements for the Azure Solutions Architect Expert, in addition to fulfilling one of the DevOps Engineer Expert requirements."

"Overall, whichever path you decide, taking the AZ-104: Azure Administrator is highly recommended before taking other training as you gain a great understanding of the capabilities in Azure. Thank you all, good luck on your Azure journey. I'll be rooting for you!"

    Is Azure training difficult?

And how long does it take? Based on the experiences of our team and our students, on average, it will take around two months to familiarise yourself with the cloud computing platform. This includes Microsoft Azure Fundamentals training day and honing your skills by using the different tools and exploring the different features.

From there, you can consider specialising and taking on intermediate and role-based certifications in Microsoft Azure.

While it can seem daunting, you can achieve a Microsoft Azure certification. It takes preparation - sitting through courses, exploring the tools and passing the exams. Having determination, discipline and confidence help too. Candidates can take a maximum of 5 attempts at exams per year. This means you can bounce back and take extra chances to get it right. Once you have accomplished this, you can proudly say that you are #MicrosoftCertified.

On whether coding is required, Microsoft Azure as a platform can be learned without needing programming, particularly for everyday infrastructure management. Most tasks can be done natively within the platform. But there may be special cases in which you would need to deploy an application to Azure. These special cases would call for you write some configuration code or a deployment script. In these cases, you can consult with a programmer or a member of your team with intermediate or advanced Azure expertise.
