Since I started working for FuturePlus in June 2006 I’ve been sent on the following courses hosted at DDLS; ITIL® Fundamentals Foundation Certificate 2011A Troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 2780B Maintaining a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database Firstly, with regards to the booking process, my manager usually deals with this side of things, however, I’ve always found Jeff, my account manager at DDLS, to be extremely helpful and he always keeps me up-to-date with the booking progress, course details, etc… I can’t recall a time where I’ve had to chase Jeff for any details he’s omitted and the few times I have sought to clarify a point he’s always answered my query to my complete satisfaction and very promptly to boot!
The location is ideal for me as it’s pretty much just around the corner from where I work. I can’t imagine a more conveniently located training centre. The facilities there are excellent too and the catering staff should be praised as the food has always been really good and the fact that the catering is also done in-house is also a big plus for me. In the past I’ve attended courses at other centres where they take you to an external location for lunch. This doesn’t allow much time for me to do anything else with the lunch break and you’re tied to everyone else’s pace. Other facilities at DDLS are also very good and I cannot think of a single negative issue that I can raise.
The courses themselves have all been very good and generally very useful for me in my career. No course is ever going to totally reflect the needs within your own organisation but I did find that they gave enough relevant information for me to then go away and do further research where appropriate. The instructors have always been knowledgeable of the subject material and always very helpful. With regards to the ITIL® course in particular, I found the instructor particularly good in his summary session on the morning before the exam. I believe that because of the way he focussed on key points he ensured that I came away with a 37/40 pass mark!
In summary, I would never hesitate to recommend DDLS or Jeff to anyone looking to attend a training course. By July 09, the first of 50+ employees started their ITIL Foundation v3 training with DDLS. On December 2009 a 92% first time pass rate was confirmed. This has resulted in the support teams speaking the same language and understanding Service Management goals. We’ve gone from chaos into fire fighting mode. With a growing need and awareness for a Service Management framework in our matrix type working environment, we are planning to raise our maturity levels significantly this year. Having open lines of communication with our Account Manager has made the ongoing organising of this training possible. The high success rate reflects the high standard of trainers DDLS have onboard.
